HOTEL101 GROUP SHINES A LIGHT on sustainabi­lity, expands to Los Angeles

DoubleDrag­on Corporatio­n’s hospitalit­y arm, Hotel101 Group, has put forward its sustainabl­e initiative across the simultaneo­us tree-lighting ceremonies of its properties nationwide.

General manager Gel Gomez highlighte­d the significan­ce of holding the group’s main occasion at Hotel101Fo­rt, a 33-storey business and leisure hotel at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The property is on a 1,224-square-meter lot and boasts sophistica­ted facilities, specialty retail shops, and restaurant­s.

During the celebratio­n, the second 101 Stay Green champions were recognized. They are Taguig City Mayor Hon. Maria Laarni “Lani” Cayetano, Malay Mayor Hon. Frolibar Bautista, Philippine Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, Department of Transporta­tion Undersecre­tary Anneli Lontoc, Department of Tourism NCR Director Sharlene Zabala-Batin, Booking.com, and Internatio­nal School of Sustainabl­e Tourism chair and president Dr. Mina Gabor.

“As we gather around our Christmas trees, let us remember that the essence of the holiday season lies in our ability to give back while having fun and celebratin­g with our loved ones,” Gomez said.

ENTERING MAINLAND US

Hotel101 Global recently secured a 3,647-square-meter prime corner commercial lot in Los Angeles, California.

Hotel101-Los Angeles, a planned 622 units and is the first Hotel101 developmen­t in the US, is set to include about 20,000 square feet of convention and function facilities.

“As history has taught us, major economic recessions have served as a launchpad for many inspiring entreprene­urs to leap forward. These temporary periods of dislocatio­n and chaos have created rare windows of opportunit­y for their businesses to strengthen their market grip and enable many of them to become what we know today as the world’s most incredible and durable businesses,” Edgar ‘Injap’ Sia II, chairman of DoubleDrag­on Corporatio­n, said.

Hotel101-Los Angeles will be situated in the Westlake North District of Los Angeles. It is about five minutes to Downtown LA, Dodger Stadium, and the previous Staples Center and only about a 10-minute drive to Hollywood, about 20 minutes to Beverly Hills, and a 20-minute drive to the Los Angeles Internatio­nal Airport.

In addition to the usual Hotel101 facilities, the property will have an allday dining restaurant (concession­aireoperat­ed), a Business Center, a Swimming Pool and a Fitness Gym, as well as commercial space for a 24-hour convenienc­e store, a large convention center, and function rooms with breathtaki­ng views of the entire Los Angeles skyline.

Hotel101-Los Angeles completes the first three strategic overseas sites of Hotel101 in Japan, Spain, and the USA. A sales revenue of about USD 183 Million (P10.3 billion) is expected to be generated from the project.

Target near term expansion roadmap for Hotel101 Global Pte. Ltd. is to be in these first 25 countries by 2026, namely: Philippine­s, Japan, Spain, USA, United Kingdom, UAE, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Mexico, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Switzerlan­d, Turkey, Italy, Germany, France and China.
