In ten kilograms of sterling silver, the Louis Vuitton Cup, which is awarded to the winner of the Challenger series, depicts a dramatic clash of sails, a moment that recalls the house’s V motif. Gaston-Louis Vuitton, grandson of founder Louis Vuitton, created the symbol in the 1930s to represent the French company’s values:

volez, voguez, voyagez. That’s fly, sail, and travel, and these really do happen during the race: Catamarans fly above the water; racers sail around the inlet; and, of course, you, along with countless other water enthusiasts, travel here to experience the rush.
