Pop Quiz, Hotshot : did you ever step into Felipe St. before the year 2013? That’s when a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint called El Chupacabra opened for business on a dark and dodgy backstreet of Makati’s red light district, and forever changed the landscape, not only of that particular block, but five years later, along with Tambai in front of it, become the catalysts for the revolution taking place in the Poblacion, one that’s resulted in a back-to-basics, al fresco, no frills and no pretensions, come as you are and chill out, moveable feast movement across all of Metro Manila.

This year, Tambai’s changing the game once again. The former sari-sari store turned street party central has given birth to three of the most compelling and charming dining and drinking destinations in the city.
