experience at iconic culinary destination, Spiral
In honor of celebrated culinary festival Goût de France, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila together with the Embassy of France to the Philippines, showcased a magnificent dinner of five courses served with the most premium Bordeaux wines. Held on the same day as the festival last March 21st, which gathers industry experts and food enthusiasts from all over the world, Sofitel’s French chef Julien Cossé’s gustatory creations were given the well-deserved spotlight on this occasion. Several plates highlighting the culinary traditions and innovations of French cuisine were presented to the distinguished guests. A smoked salmon dome with asparagus mousseline and poached eggs was the perfect starter to the menu of delectable dishes about to be served. This was followed by sea scallops flambé with star anise, leek fondue, and sesame tuile.
For the main course, slow-cooked beef tournedos with mushroom fricassee and parsnip puree with bordelaise sauce captivated the sophisticated palates of everyone in Spiral. Guests were also offered a selection of artisanal cheese and assorted bread. And to cap the authentic French feast, salted caramel fondant with Calvados-caramelized apples and white chocolate gelato.
