Lifestyle Asia celebrates new heights with March cover girl Che Uy
Nobu Hotel at City of Dreams Manila was the host of two celebrations last March 28th. Lifestyle Asia unveiled its new direction, with the tagline, ‘Beyond Luxury Living,’ and cheered to the success of its March issue which featured Che Uy on its cover. Among the invited guests were people who have graced the pages of Lifestyle Asia’s past issues, as well the magazine’s trusted partners who have supported the brand in its endeavors. The social gathering started with a speech by Lifestyle’s Asia’s Dong Ronquillo, who opened the festivities. City of Dreams’ Chief Operating Officer Kevin Benning then welcomed everyone to Nobu and encouraged all to enjoy the feast about to be served, while Associate Publisher Abby Laurel acknowledged all of Lifestyle Asia’s partners and invited everyone to visit the pop-up of Furla. There, a selection of Furla merchandise brought by the SSI Team were displayed and sold at a special price, exclusive to the fête’s invitees.
Before the dinner began, Dr. Vicki Belo congratulated Che Uy for her cover feature. Dr. Belo, who was featured last month on the Weddings issue, also provided the attendees with giveaways, bottles of Belo Medical Group’s ZO NormaCleanse, her well-loved skin normalizing cleanser.
A four-course meal served by Nobu’s Chef Michael de Leon delighted the palates of the discerning guests. In a masterful fusion of Japanese cuisine and modern techniques, each gustatory creation brought a unique experience. The zensai, served at the beginning of the meal, was a dish of Pickled Tomato, Matsuhisa Dressing, and Shaved Root Vegetables. After this was the first course, Chef’s
Choice of Sushi and Sashimi, followed by a course of Butter Lettuce Salad, Yuzu Truffle, Parmesan, and Crispy Yuba.
For the main course, guests were given a choice between Sous Vide Australian Tenderloin with Miso Mushrooms and Kabotcha Dumplings and Black Cod Miso with Sweet Den Miso Sauce. And to cap the sophisticated menu of well-plated dishes, a serving of Nobu Style Tofu Cheesecake with Strawberry Sauce. No glass was left empty with the abundance of wine courtesy of Titania Wines.
Through the chic stylings of Robert Blancaflor, the event's vision was wellexecuted, refined, and beautiful. Exquisite florals embellished the long dinner table. Bouquets of white Phalaenopsis orchids, irises, roses, eryngiums, and various carnations provided an added visual feast for the diners. A vignette was also set up where invited guests and event partners alike were able to get their photos taken.
At the end of the dinner, Dong Ronquillo thanked all the evening’s guests once again for joining Lifestyle Asia in this joyous occasion and invited everyone to raise their glasses, to toast to recognizing truly meaningful lives and to new successes with Lifestyle Asia.
