FLYING WITHOUT WINGS
A thrilling experience brings lady pilots from the skies to the race track
An icon of success, Mercedes-Benz has been held in high regard for its legacy, reliability, and class-leading attributes. But more than its fine artisanship and luxe interiors, the brand has maintained exceptional engineering with powerful engines that make it a force to be reckoned with on any racetrack. The exclusive distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, parts, and accessories in the Philippines, Auto Nation Group (ANG), in partnership with Philippine Airlines, sent lady pilots to the Sepang Racing Circuit in Malaysia for the biannual Asian leg of the Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience (MBDE) program.
The airline’s women empowerment campaign had the lady pilots steering the wheel of some of the fastest Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a testament that women can go fast and furious on the racetrack too. Participants which included enthusiasts from other countries were given track exercises by trained professionals and Mercedes-Benz personnel such as race start simulation, slalom, braking, double lane change, emergency maneuvering, drifting sessions, intelligent drive competitions, and laps around the track among others. Amidst the fun, safety was a message that resonated throughout the program via classroom and hands-on sessions on safety training that were given as part of the dynamic driving program.
The German luxury car’s MBDE is a global driving program that provides one-of-a-kind experiences for fans of the brand to test out their vehicles, including those in its AMG performance line-up. The next leg of the Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience is slated in the fourth quarter of 2019.
