BEAUTY IS FOR EVERYONE
MAC COSMETICS and Korean influencer Pony collaborate to create a special edition line that introduces K-Beauty to the world
Korean artist, influencer, and entrepreneur Park Hye-Min, known to her more than six million Instagram followers as Pony, releases PONY PARK, a collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. Her makeup tips and transformations, and her aesthetic vision and confident personality made her the perfect talent for the brand to tap. “Pony Park is synonymous with K-beauty! She is South Korea’s biggest and most sought-after beauty blogger and inspires her fan base to tap into their own creativity,” says Regan Rabanal, APAC Senior Manager of Makeup Artistry, Hong Kong.
Setting herself ahead of the pack with her belief in inclusion and accessibility, some of Pony's most highly viewed tutorials are customized for hijab wearers and watchers with monolid features. This collection with MAC did not scrimp on her commitment to the idea that makeup should be enjoyed by everyone. “My collection with M·A·C is super meaningful to me in that I am able to bring K-beauty, Korean culture, and Asian beauty and culture to the global market,” says Pony. “I’ve been showing various looks on my social networks and videos for years and through this collaboration with M·A·C, I’m able to bring the actual experience to global consumers so they can experience my vision directly and hands-on as they try the products.”
This limited-edition collection features vibrant colors, unique textures, and carefully curated essentials that can be combined for a variety of looks. The groundbreaking Matte Lip Mousse is a weightless formula that gives a misty, soft-matte color. For the Korean-style ombré lip, Rabanal suggests softening the lip line with Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 and the 217S Brush, followed by the Smooth Prep + Prime Lip over lips then apply the Matte Lip Mousse in My Better Half to the inside center part of lips, followed by blotting and blending the edges. To outline the edges, use Matte Lip Mousse in Privacy Please and blend with the first color. Blot lips again to blur the edges together diffuse with the 217S Brush. The result is the famed watercolor effect.
Together with the Matte Lip Mousse shades, the collection includes the tinted Plenty of
Pout Plumping Lip Gloss, a neutral-hued Eye Shadow Palette with eight shades, two Extra Dimension Skinfinish shades, a Prep+Prime Fix+ with a soft, iridescent look, a Face Powder Brush, a Duo Fibre Eye Shader Brush and a pair of Lashes. Packaged in tarot card-inspired packaging with suns, moons and stars, Lyne Desnoyers, Global Executive Director of Makeup Artistry says that the collection shares a story about luminosity. “Core to K-beauty is this idea of a radiance that is present in every step of the beauty regimen, from skincare to makeup. This has hugely influenced makeup lovers around the world—the gestures and details that create glowy makeup have become essential for everyone. But luminosity is not one-note anymore. From a fresh eye to a flushed cheek to radiant skin, it can be conveyed in many different ways.
