At the core of any work of art are basic shapes that serve as building blocks–circles, triangles, squares, you name them. But in a three-dimensional space, the most fundamental are the sphere, pyramid, and cube. Spheres evoke totality and fluidity through its never-ending surface, pyramids symbolize power–with the Egyptian wonders coming to mind–as the towering structure peaks at its pointed top; and cubes symbolize stability, permanence, and geometric perfection. But it was during the early 20th century when the cube caught the artistic eye and was treated as an integral object by avant garde devotees. Take cubism, an artistic movement that reduced figures into geometric outlines– highly stylised and non-naturalistic.

Available for the washbasin, bathtub, bidet, and modules for the shower, AXOR Edge is refined with fine textures and personalizable with a selection of AXOR FinishPlus surfaces: from Polished Gold-Optic to Polished Black Chrome.
Quality is ensured through a state-of-the-art diamond-cutting machine especially developed for the production of AXOR Edge. This tool mills the chamfered edges at precisely 45 degrees and facet surfaces with intersecting lines that form precision-pointed pyramids for texture.
Atop the architectonics of the collection is French architect and designer Jean-Marie Massaud, a developer of avant garde designs for AXOR since 2005. “With AXOR Edge, we have answered the demand for refinement and uniqueness to make a sculpture out of an everyday object. More than a faucet, each product is a unique architectural object drilled from a brass block and dressed with personal finishes. A real functional piece of art that shares your intimacy for life–that’s my understanding of luxury,” says Massaud.
