Ced Torrecarion, gaganap na Jesus Christ sa musical play na The Lost Sheep

SUNOD-SUNOD ang projects ngayon ni Ced Torrecarion. Bukod sa napapanood sa mga soap opera ng ABS CBN na FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano at Asintado, tampok din siya sa musical play na The Lost Sheep na mula sa Manila Act One Productions!

Aminado si Ced na pinaka-challenging na project niya ang The Lost Sheep na gumaganap siya bilang si Jesus Christ. Ito ay isang musical play na nagtatampok sa mga miracle at parable ni Jesus Christ bilang medium upang pasinungalingan ang argumento hinggil sa existence of God.

Dito’y makikita ang isang makabagaong atheist soldier na humarap kay Jesus ukol sa existence at love ng Diyos. Pinagmulan ito ng isang argumento. Kasama si Jesus at mga desipulo, pasisinungalingan nila ang paniniwala ng atheist sa pamamagitan ng parables at miracles na naging daan para ma-convert ang atheist.

Ipinakita ito sa pamamagitan ng dance numbers, isang multi-level stage, na may special lights at other effects na nakadagdag sa magandang musical presentation. Pawang mga orihinal na music, costume, props, at different treatments ng bawat parable at miracles ang ginawa para mas maunawaan ito ng mga manonood.

Saad ni Ced, “Ang challenge riyan is being Jesus Christ, kasi, we don’t really know who is Jesus Christ. How, how you portray Jesus Christ? Siguro iyan ang pinakamahirap na role, kahit ano’ng ibigay sa iyong role, iyan ang pinakamahirap, si Jesus Christ.

“Honestly, ang dami ring mga trial while doing this, pero we’re still doing it because it’s for the Lord, nga eh. Blessing ito na magampanan ko si Jesus, kahit mahirap, kahit marami kaming pinagdaraanan… medyo nacha-challenge iyong grupo, pero buo pa rin kami.”

Inilarawan din ni Ced ang kanilang musical play. “The Lost Sheep is not the typical Jesus Christ story… we try to combine what’s currently happening in our lives… the show will truly strengthen your faith if you have and those who haven’t found our Lord will truly be touched by the story.”

Nabanggit din ni Ced ang ginawa niyang paghahanda para rito. “Number-1, I prepare myself spiritually… to portray Jesus Christ is a role that is not easy… physically and mentally and I also prepare, especially with the songs.

“We also start and end our rehearsals with a prayer as sometimes we are tested. I’m just honored and humbled to be doing this. I offer this to my family especially to my Mom in heaven,” wika pa ni Ced.

Naikuwento rin ni Ced ang isang bahagi ng buhay niya na nakaranas siya nang matinding depression na umabot sa puntong gusto niyang mag-suicide.

“Yes, gusto kong mag-suicide, that was the lowest point in my life. Actually not just once, but thrice. I went through depression nang inilayo sa akin ‘yung anak ko. As a Dad, malaking bagay ‘yun, eh. And then nagkaroon ng conflict sa family ko. As you know, I had to choose between my mom who’s sick at that time. Patongpatong ‘yun eh, so ‘yun ang nangyari. I tend to question Him, kinukuwestiyon ko na ang Diyos. Why is this happening?

“But then, gladly, you know, nalagpasan ko siya. Na-overome ko siya dahil kay Lord. My faith in the Lord and then I kept myself busy, basically. I got a job and then my family was there to support me. Number one talaga, pray-pray-pray. And then buhay pa mom ko noon, talagang suportado nila ako.”

Ayon naman kay Jon Achaval na siyang director nito, naniniwala silang kailangang mapanood ang The Lost Sheep ng mga taga-Maynila. Sinabi naman ng Executive Producer nilang si Lee Ann Lazaro Achavel, target audience nila ang general public tulad ng mula sa mga eskuwelahan at religious organizations.

Mapapanood ang The Lost Sheep sa Oktubre 27, 4:00 p.m. at 7:00 p.m. sa Star Theater, CCP Complex. Kasama rin sa cast sina Lovely Rivero na gaganap bilang Mary, Pastor Reuben Aslor, ang atheist, at Jeffrey Santos, si Peter.

Ang kikitain ng kanilang play ay para sa Gawad Kalinga. Ang tiket ay nagkakahalaga ng P800, P500, P300, at P200 para sa matinee show; at P1,200, P750, at P350 sa evening show.
