Crisis committee to negotiate for cop’s release

MALIMONO,MAL Surigao del Norte – A local crisis management­m committee (CMC) was activateda­ctivate yesterday to negotiate for the early and saf safe release of the intelligen­ce police officer ofo Malimono Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Surigao del Norte who was abducted WednesdayW­ednes by still unconfirme­d forces.

The Armed Forces of the Philippine­s (AFP) anda Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) implemente­dimpleme the joint response immediatel­y after theth reported abduction incident. The regional command and action center of PRO 13 also activateda their Special Investigat­ion Task GroupGr (SITG) to help manage the crisis situation.situation

The CMC, led by Malimono town Mayor Teodoro Sinaca, have started working on steps to ensure the safe release of Police Officer 1 Jonrie Amber, intelligen­ce officer of MalimonoMa­limon MPS, starting with the creation of a negotiatin­gnegoti panel.

“As ofo this time, we have not yet received confirmati­onconfirmm from the NPA if they are holding Amber asa their prisoner of war (POW),” said Senior InspectorI Reuel Belza, chief of police of MalimonoMa­lim MPS.

Meanwhile,Me the regional and provincial police mobilem forces had started their search and rescueresc operations to the abducted police officer in the mountainou­s and forested mountainmo­unta of Malimono.
