PAGASA: Fair weather this weekend
State weather forecasters said that most parts of the country will experience fair weather conditions this weekend since no weather disturbances are expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Manny Mendoza said the tail-end of a cold front, the front boundary of two air masses, which produces clouds and rain, will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon.
He noted that the northeast monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Ilocos regions and the rest of Central Luzon.
Mendoza added the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The northeast monsoon or “hanging amihan’’ is the cold wind from Siberia that blows into the country usually from October until March. (Chito A. Chavez)
