CDC reaffirms integrity pledge

- By FRANCO G. REGALA

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga — Close to 300 executives and rank-and-file employees of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) signed an integrity pledge in front of the Freeport administration building yesterday to combat corruption and other illegal activities.

CDC’s integrity pledge this year is a reaffirmation of its earlier pledge signed on December 2013, and in line with President Aquino’s advocacy for “Daang Matuwid” (straight path) to cleanse the bureaucracy of corruption and other illicit practices which have eroded at the integrity of various organizations and aggravated poverty, among others.

In an interview following the signing, Tugade said not many groups, organizations or government offices do a reaffirmation pledge because going into it is binding.

“Integrity is not just a definition. It is a value that has to be lived. When that happens, it becomes a culture, a commitment,” he said.
