Cabrera rules Petron kartfest

Gabriel Tayao Cabrera of Seaoil-DC stamped his class recently by winning all his kart races in the final two legs of the 2014 Petron Blaze 100 ROK Cup Super Series at the Carmona Racetrack.

Cabrera, a 14-year- old Grade 10 student from Makati Hope Christian School topped the ROK Overall and ROK Junior classes of the event sanctioned by the Automobile Associatio­n of the Philippine­s and backed by Petron (Blaze 100 Euro 4, XCS, Ultron, Xtra and Sprint), Magnolia Pure Water and Yokohama.

Aside from the twin victories, Cabrera also formalized his coronation as the 2014 Petron Junior Karter of the Year selection.

Runner-up was Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement, who has dramatical­ly im- proved over the course of the race, was awarded the Petron ROK Clubman of the Year.

Bobby Domingo of Formula-E Racing checked in third after engaging Wayne Darvin of Total Racing in a tight contest that saw him get the ROK Senior Blaze 100 crown.

Sharing the limelight were Eduardo Coseteng Jr., Zach David of Formula-E Racing and KartMaster Drakar Racing Team’s Flynn Jackes and William Casequin.
