MB Vice President for Classifieds Advertising Lyne Abanilla said the eighth – and last –leg will be the “culmination of our series of successful job fairs.” She said the last event will be “very big” judging by the support from exhibitors.

This month’s job fair will feature a combination of old and new companies, ranging from BPOs, insurance, airlines, manpower, online teaching, marketing, IT, engineering and sales.

The platinum sponsors include 51Talk, Afni, Concentrix and UHG. First-timers at the job fair are Cebu Pacific Air, Multilingual Connect, Unli Solution, SM Retail, Delos Santos Medical Center, and Mansfield International, Inc.

Cebu Pacific Air is anticipating a number of vacant job positions after the Christmas season. “We are looking for front liners, ticketing agents and cabin crew who will meet our requirements for our 2015 pool [of employees],” said Cris Tamala, HR associate for Recruitment. She added that while fresh graduates are welcome to apply, they are expecting applicants to possess “communication skills, comprehension and confidence”. She said they hope to get at least 300 applicants.

Mark Vergara, recruitment specialist at Real Page Philippines, Inc., said they are in need of people to fill in various positions as they expect more growth next year. They are expecting to hire 20 qualified applicants.

“As the company grows, we are handling the maintenance, marketing, IT, social media and accounting side of the business. We started in the US in 1998 but our main office decided to put up an office in Manila in 2011,” said Vergara. An IT company providing software solutions for property management industry in the US, Real Page has offices in India, Canada, Spain, and Dubai. Vergara said they are expecting an “80 percent growth” from their present 650 employees, a vision they expect to realize by joining the MB Job Fair.

“We know that Manila Bulletin is the number one paper and as part of our branding and marketing efforts, [we saw that] this is a good way for us to market ourselves,” he explained.

Power Steel, a distributor of steel products in the country is also joining the job fair. The 35-year- old company has clients ranging from contractors, architects, industrial users and purchasers. “We have vacancies for press relations officers, SEO specialists, sales representatives, marketing and accounting staff,” said Lara Jebulan, HR assistant.
