Aside from a bigger number of job fairs held this year, more people were able to take advantage of Manila Bulletin’s online job portal, www.mbclassifiedjobs.com.

The site was first introduced to public on November 2012 as an added platform for the Classified Ads clients of Manila Bulletin. Over time, more features were incorporated to complement the job fairs organized by the newspaper, as well. From the site’s interface to its content, security, and job-matching capabilities, the changes were all part of MB’s objective of reaching out to more companies and job applicants.

“Our average job post per day for this second half of the year climbed to 265.99 percent,” shares Dante J. Mijares, product head of MB Classified Jobs. He adds that while there have been a lot of improvements since March this year in terms of reliability and accuracy of job post, “The most significant improvement of the site to date is the integration of the Job Fair Online Registration,” which is set to be incorporated to the site before the upcoming job fair at SM Sky Dome.

“With this integration of job fair registration thru MBClassifiedJOBS.com, registrants will have access to the site 24/7,” explains Mijares.

An evolving platform Companies and applicants will be thrilled to discover that joining the site is absolutely free. One simply needs to register and provide basic information asked by the site.

So far, the extensive efforts of the company in promoting the site, as well as the accurate and timely job posts, have been paying off. Job seekers find out the schedule of upcoming fairs aside from being matched to hundreds of possible jobs. Employers joining the site get the exposure they need in attracting new hires. In fact, the challenge now is to keep up with the demand of the market, says Mijares.

“The challenge now is how we can accommodate the numerous requests from institutions who want us to conduct caravans and job fairs in their respective places,” he shares. “As a matter of fact, we already received invitations from different schools to participate in their schools activities for employment for the year 2015.”

As we count the number of days left in the 2014 calendar, the MB Classified Jobs team is also looking forward to more developments. “We are aiming to double, if not triple, our indicative figures by the year 2015,” says Mijares.

To effectively do this, he urges online users of the site to: “Fill out all the information completely and follow instruction whenever prompted by the system so that their application will be prioritized in the matching logic sequence of the system,” Mijares says. “This way, they have higher chances of getting noticed by the prospective employers.”
