-

Top international and Filipino management leaders are set to meet on Nov. 17-19 at the Extraordinary Leadership Summit in Manila to discuss major trends and opportunities for the Philippines as an emerging economic leader in Asia.

The summit will tackle the visionary role of leaders in transformational change. The theme takes off from a recent Harvard Business School management case discussion titled “The Republic of the Philippines: The Next Asian Tiger” co-authored by Harvard Business School alumna and Filipino executive Maria Carolina Dominguez.

International thought leader Joe Folkman, president and co- founder of Zenger- Folkman, will discuss extraordinary leadership and present studies on management practices for successful leadership in business and governance.

Associate Professor Roy Chua of the Singapore Management University and former Harvard Business School Professor will present the critical need for creativity and innovativeness among Asian leaders as a competitive edge in regional leadership supremacy.

Scott Anthony, managing partner of Innosight, one of the world’s leading experts on innovation, will talk on “Building innovative organization.”

Aurelio “Gigi” Montinola, former BPI President and CEO, will give a testimony on authentic leadership, drawn from the depth of his 31-year experience with the country’s oldest bank.

The panelists lineup include Ed Valencia, Deutsche Knowledge Services CEO; Art Tan, Hitachi Global Storage Technology Philippines General Manager; Miguel Garcia, DTSI Group President and CEO; Jorge Osorio, Citibank Philippines Country HR Officer.

A whole panel discussion by women leaders Karen Batungbakal, QBE Ex- ecutive General Manager; Cristina Concepcion, BPOI President and CEO; and Tina Stockdale, Transunion Information Solutions, Inc. President and CEO will be the highlight of the summit. The topic presents a brave look into the changing landscape where women leaders rank high in the executive ladder.

Three tracks will define the Summit’s second day. One track will tackle “Recruiting Extraordinary Talent: Build or Buy” with panelists Michael Howard, Managing Director and Founder, and Frontier Software PLC Paul Kocourek, Director, 1st Valley Bank.

“Learning from the Best: Developing Extraordinary Leaders the Harvard Way” is another track with discussion leader Tully Moss, President, The Magellan Alliance.

John Clements Consultants, Inc. President and CEO Maria Carolina Dominguez sums up the relevance of the event: “The Philippines has reached a strong position of influence in the community of nations specially in Asia, which we see as a continuing journey beyond the 21st century. This has been made possible by the collective force of Filipino talent in the workforce. Our aim at the Extraordinary Leadership Summit is to celebrate this important Filipino value, and to bring the brilliant perspective of international thought leaders and industry luminaries for a powerful learning experience to summit delegates who are expected to apply their learnings in their respective organizations. As we celebrate 40 years, John Clements Consultants is pleased to underscore this core value as we reaffirm our commitment to serve the Filipino talent and strengthen our belief in our extraordinary leadership to become Asia’s next tiger.”
