Sta. Lucia, Hobe gain D-L semis

Hobe- JVS defeated Supremo Lex Builders, 79-70, while Sta. Lucia Land Inc. outlasted Uratex Foam, 9184, Tuesday night to enter the semis round of the 4th DELeague Invitation- al Basketball Tournament on a winning mood.

Jabril Bailey led Hobe- JVS with 20 points, six rebounds and seven steals while former PBA player Mark Yee chipped in 17 points and five boards to underscore the team’s firepower at the Marikina Sports Park.

Sta. Lucia, on the other hand, drew 20 points from Mike Paralla, including key baskets down the stretch to pull through in the tournament supported by Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman.

Paralla drew significan­t contribu- tions from Kiko Adirano, Jeff Agovida, and Billy Robles who scored 14 points apiece.

Hobe- JVS and Sta. Lucia thus joined early semifinali­st Sealions in the tournament sponsored by PCA Marivalley, St. Anthony Hospital, PS Bank Blue Wave Marquinton Branch, Luyong Restaurant Concepcion, Mckie’s Equipment Sales and Rental, Cars UnlimitedF­airview Auto Sale and Tutor 101.

Siargao Legends and FEU-NRMF are disputing the fourth at last semis berth at press time.

World boxing champion and Rep. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is playing Santa Claus to the country’s darters for four days, starting tomorrow.

The eight-division champion who recently battered American Chris Algieri in their 12-round fight in Macau has put up the One Million Philippine Dart Open tournament at the Pacman Sports Stadium in Phil-am Avenue, Barangay Tambler, General Santos City as part of his birthday celebratio­n on December 17.

The four-day competitio­n features the country’s finest darters led by topranked Christian Perez, who earned his ticket to the 2015 World Darts Champi- onship by ruling the PDC South Asia Qualifier in Malaysia.

Perez is raring to go into action against the world’s best as England kicks off the prestigiou­s event at the Alexandra Palace in London on December 18.

The Pacman dartfest will start tomorrow with a 501 Classified Draw Doubles at 5 p.m. with a total cash prize of R100,000.

It will be capped by the Open singles matches at 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15 with a cash prize of R300,000, with the winner pocketing R100,000. Senior darters will also have a chance to show their old form when they compete.
