Intruder shot by QC security guard
Asecurity guard detailed at a warehouse in Quezon City killed a man with his service firearm Sunday morning. report from the Quezon City Police District- Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD- CIDU) revealed the apprehended shooter was 42- year- old Guillermo Callao of Tondo, Manila.
Callao told authorities that he is a security guard detailed at the Gypsum Warehouse, located along Mother Ignacia Street, and was on duty that day when a power interruption occurred about 11 a.m. This prompted him to conduct an inspection in the area and saw a man standing in front of the electric circuit of the warehouse.
He added that the unidentified man was holding a cutting plier and improvised bolo. He called the attention of the intruder and ordered to drop the tools. However, the latter kicked him instead.
Callao retaliated by drawing his .38 caliber gun and fired at the intruder twice, killing the latter on the spot. The security guard then reported the incident to the authorities.
Responding Scene of the Crime Opera- tives (SOCO) recovered the tools from the body of the victim and Callao’s firearm which was loaded with three live ammunitions. Two bullet casings were also taken from the scene.
Investigators noted that the victim died from two bullet wounds in the upper portion of his abdomen and in his back. He was described to be about 4’10” tall and has a thin built. He also has tattoos written as “Tayan” on his abdomen; “Bahala na Gang” on his back; and the name “Chocoy Tan” and an image of a woman on his right arm. (Betheena Kae Unite)
