New management at helm of PhilRealty

- ALCID LANUZA FISCHER OLIVES

Philippine Realty and Holdings Corp. ( PhilRealty), a publicly listed real estate firm, is continuing to strengthen its position in the local property development scene with a new management in charge.

Andrew Alcid — former CEO of PhilRealty’s controlling shareholder, Greenhills Properties, Inc. — is now the head of PhilRealty’s new management as its President and CEO. The developer will also have Gerardo Domenico Lanuza as EVP and COO, Vincent Fisher as CFO, Jose Ramon Olives as Chief Brand Officer and Erwin Ciar as VP for Construction.

Mr. Alcid brings with him over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, most notably with Citibank ( New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Manila), Merrill Lynch ( New York) and Salomon Brothers Inc. (New York), and locally with UCPB and BDO. He also served as CEO of the Philippine operations of AXA, the French insurer, prior to being involved in the development of Cavitex (toll road connecting Manila to Kawit, Cavite) as President/CEO of Coastal Road Corporation.

The new management team will zero in on its efforts of rebuilding PhilRealty’s capabilities anchored on five pillars of growth: residential, office, specialized retail, master planned townships, and leisure. It will also build on its corporate social responsibility, whose roots will center on the underserved communities in the south.

Gerardo Domenico Lanuza remains a crucial member of the family that controls PhilRealty. As PhilRealty’s new EVP and COO, Mr. Lanuza will be instrumental in pursuing new businesses and setting strategic directions for the company. Nico has had almost a decade of business experience, having begun his career as VP of Sales for brokerage firm Campos- Lanuza & Co., Inc. back in 2006. He had also been PhilRealty’s VP for Special Projects and has been a member of the board since January 2009. His new role at the company will see him primarily overseeing business development and sales.

Meanwhile, Mr. Fischer, with his background in credit and risk management at Credit Suisse and Bank Julius Baer, will have PhilRealty’s finance and accounting departments reporting to him. Currently, he also sits as the founder (CFO and COO) of Appsels Pte Ltd. — a mobile application strategy, design, and development company — and a consultant for Geneva-based digital technology solutions provider Teksels S. A. Prior to this, he also served as Deputy Head for Business Risk Management (BRM) SEA Head Investment Risk, and Market Risk and Product Control for Bank Julius Baer Ltd. in Singapore.

Mr. Olives, on the other hand will direct the marketing, corporate communications, public relations/ advertising and branding strategies of PhilRealty, owing to his 25 years of experience in media operations at ABS- CBN. Prior to joining the company, he served as ABS- CBN’s SVP for Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Advocacy.
