- By ED MAHILUM

Heavy vehicular traffic is expected at the Monumento circle in Caloocan City and adjacent areas due to the scheduled closure of portions of the major road artery from February 18 to 19 to make way for the Chinese New Year Countdown concert, fireworks and other festivities.

The Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office ( CATO) said this is part of the lunar new year festivities in line with Caloocan's 53rd Cityhood Founding Anniversary.

The CATO said that starting Feb. 18, (Wednesday) at 12:01 a.m., Rizal Ave. and Epifanio delos Santos Ave. (EDSA) wing of the Bonifacio Circle will be closed to traffic for the construction of a stage for the festivities.

The Northbound lanes of EDSA and Rizal Ave. and both lanes of Mac-Arthur Highway and Samson Road will remain open to vehicles, but Rizal Ave. southbound and EDSA southbound lanes will be closed, up to B. Serrano Street.
