St. Cyril’s feast
The Catholic Church honors today the life and works of Saint Cyril (San Cirilo). Considered as a distinguished theologian of the early Church, St. Cyril’s instructions were used as reference by the Catholic Church. His writings were the most important sources on how the Church celebrated the liturgy and the sacraments during the first few decades after the legalization of Christianity. He served as bishop of Jerusalem from 351 up to the time of his death in 386. He was declared by Pope Leo XIII as Doctor of the Church in 1883. (Christina I. Hermoso)
