Senior shot dead by old foe

-

A65-year-old pensioner who attended a court hearing was shot dead by the same assailant who reportedly tried to previously kill him Thursday afternoon in Quezon City.

Reports reaching the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) headquarters identified the victim as Alfredo Ilustrisimo, of Lunduyan Street, Area-A3, Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

Police identified the suspect as Alvin Cunanan, of legal age, of Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City while his male cohort remains unidentified.

Police said that at about 4 p.m. Ilustrisimo and his wife, who just attended a frustrated murder case hearing against the suspect, were walking along Lunduyan Street in Barangay Batasan Hills when Cunanan and his cohort onboard a motorcycle blocked their path and shot Ilustrisimo in the head.

Ilustrisimo, before succumbing, managed to utter to his wife: “Siya, siya si Alvin Cunanan ang bumaril sa akin (He, he is Alvin Cunanan, the one who shot me).”

Police learned that an old grudge between the two prompted Cunanan to kill Ilustrisimo.

Responding Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered one fired cartridge of cal. 45 at the crime scene. Ilustrisimo sustained a lone gunshot in the temple.

Meanwhile, a 34-year-old man was gunned down while inside a car in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Responding police saw the victim, identified as Jaime Dela Cruz, of Caloocan City, slumped with blood all over his body inside the car he was driving along Lourdes Street in Barangay Nova Proper, Novaliches. The motive behind the killing is yet to be determined while the suspect remains at large.
