Potable water

CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar (PIA) – Thousands of beneficiaries from San Jorge here now have access to potable water, under the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig (Salintubig) project. “In San Jorge, some 9,000 beneficiaries are already enjoying potable water,” DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, adding that same projects are currently in various stages of implementation like the one in the island town of Tagapul-an. “Kailangan masolusyunan ang basic needs sa mga komunidad kahit na gaano kalayo,” he added. Meanwhile, some P85 million is being downloaded in different barangays in Samar under the Recovery Assistance for Yolanda (RAY) project. “We are also focused on funding the reconstruction of markets, municipal hall, and civic centers,” he said. The DILG Secretary said he empathizes with the Samarnons being poor because of the typhoons almost always hitting Samar. (PIA)
