Arms show June 11-15

The 23rd Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) will open its doors to thousands of gun enthusiast­s on June 11-15 at the 5th Floor, MegaTrade Hall, SM Megamall, Mandaluyon­g City.

Joy Gutierrez Jose, president of the Associatio­n of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippine­s, Inc. (AFAD), said that an exciting array of firearms and shooting parapherna­lia will be on display at the exhibit hall.

Along with firearms exhibit, the AFAD and the Philippine National Police (PNP) under the leadership of Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina, renewed their partnershi­p in establishi­ng the PNP Caravan in processing applicatio­ns for License to Own and PossessFir­earms (LTOPF) and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR).

Also offered at the gun show venue are PNP Neuro-Psychiatri­c Test and Interview, Drug Test, Directorat­e for Intelligen­ce Clearance, Finance Service for payment of fees and National Bureau of Investigat­ion (NBI) Clearance.

The PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) under Senior Supt. Elmo Francis Sarona will assign FEO personnel to assist LTOPF and PTCFOR applicants. Among the highlights of the 23rd DSAS is a tribute of AFAD to the “SAF 44.”

In the past decade, AFAD has been providing assistance to

the PNP, including the Special Action Force (SAF), to boost the government’s anti-criminalit­y drive. There will also be an exhibit of the latest military hardware by the Government Arsenal, an agency under the Department of National Defense (DND).
