Celebs who find school cool

-

It’s a known fact that most celebs would rather set aside their studies in pursuit of showbiz glory. Indeed, it seems they all believe in the adage about opportunity knocking only once, and that not heeding it could turn what could be a gold mine into a heap of useless coal.

Well, it isn’t as if it’s easy to juggle TV and movie obligations, let alone calculus and chemistry. Then again, it should be said that not all men are created equal. Where some would rather eschew a degree in favor of an exciting showbiz career, there are those who would rather have both.

Manolo Pedrosa is currently making inroads as an actor, appearing on such shows as “Maalala Mo Kaya” and “Hawak Kamay.” He is also set to star in “Stars Versus Me,” his first movie. As if his plate isn’t already full, he is also busy with his Entrepreneurship course at Enderun Colleges.

Jasmine Curtis-Smith is slowly inching her way to stardom very much like big sister Anne Curtis, however, she is making sure she would have something to latch on to in case the whole star-making machine falters. Jasmine has taken up Communication Arts at the Ateneo de Manila University. Julie Anne San Jose is being groomed by her mother network GMA into a singer-actress of note. While she has proven her mettle in various outings (a hit movie with Elmo Magalona, several double platinum albums, and successful concerts), she is also working on earning a Mass Communication’s degree at Angelicum College.

Albie Casiño is among today’s most controversial actors but it doesn’t distract him from his Export Management course at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

Already a star in her own right, Kathryn Bernardo is not resting on her laurels, balancing time between work and her Marketing course at Enderun Colleges.

This early in his career, Martin del Rosario has already earned several acting plums including a Golden Screen Breakthrough Performance by an Actor Award and the PMPC New Movie Actor of the Year Award, for his performance in 2010’s “Dagim.” Though his showbiz future looks bright, he is also aiming to earn a degree in Broadcast Communications at UP-Diliman. Another UPDiliman student is Kim Chiu. Though she is already earning big bucks as actresssinger-entrepreneur, Kim obviously doesn’t want to go about it without sound knowledge, having taken up Business Management.
