Insular unveils 2 new health insurance packages

Insular Life, the largest Filipinoowned insurance company, has rolled out two new health insurance packages to help Filipinos prepare for future health costs.

Wealth Secure Health and Wealth Assure Health are regular pay investmentlinked insurance products with a built-in health fund.

“Health-care costs are rising, as modern medicine extends life expectancy. Our new products seek to assuage anxiety, especially among those looking forward to a fruitful, enjoyable life well into old age, arising from concerns over high care-giver and medication costs,” said Senior Executive Vice President and head of Sales & Marketing Group Jesus Alfonso G. Hofileña

Hofileña added: “With the increasing cost of medical attention, it’s better to start preparing for it today.”

The benefit that goes with Insular’s two new products covers hospitalization and dread-disease.

The hospitalization allowance can be used to replace income lost as a result of injuries, diseases or ailments that require extended hospital stays, while the Dread Disease coverage provides a lump sum amount that can be used for treatment and medication.

Wealth Secure Health and Wealth Assure Health allows for the build-up of a health fund which insureds can later use to pay for health-related expenses until the age of 99.

The health fund can be used to refit a home to make it easier for a person with disability to move around.

“More importantly, it can be used as a source for anything, from medicines to doctors’ fees, hospitalization expenses or even a full-time nurse,” said Hofileña.

As insurance products, Wealth Secure Health and Wealth Assure Health provide insurance coverage that provides benefits in case something happens to the insured before the fund is depleted.
