Mison files raps vs BI’s ex-intel chief
Commissioner Siegfred Mison of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) filed yesterday criminal charges against the agency’s former intelligence chief before the Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) for allegedly altering his birth date in his personal data sheet (PDS) to prolong his stay in the government service.
Facing charges of falsification of public documents, serious dishonesty, and grave misconduct is lawyer Faisal Hussin.
The BI chief personally filed the criminal and administrative complaint.
Records show that Hussin started working for the BI in 1995 as a technical assistant and rose from the ranks all the way to his current post as Intelligence Officer V.
Upon entry to service, Hussin allegedly declared in his personal data sheet(PDS) that he was born on Jan. 30, 1948.
According to Mison, the same date of birth was also stated in the respondent’s marriage certificate as well as his PDS filed before the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the the birth certificates of his children.
However, Hussin allegedly changed the date of his birth to June 30,1950 last 2013 which in effect defers his retirement date to 2015.
Mison alleged that the respondent wanted to extend his employment for two more years as government workers are supposed to retire after reaching the age of 65.
