Fire hits UST bldg.
Fire broke out at the St. Raymund de Peñafort building inside the University of Santo Tomas (UST) campus in Sampaloc, Manila Sunday night, prompting school authorities to suspend classes in the affected colleges yesterday.
The blaze originated at the fourth floor fourth floor at around 9:12 p.m. It was placed under control by responding government and volunteer firefighters half an hour later.
The building houses the Colleges of Commerce and AB.
UST's Office of the Secretary-General announced classes in the said building is suspended to ensure the safety of students and allow arson investigators to conduct a thorough probe.
School authorities, however, did not suspend office work in the building.
No fatalities or injuries were reported.
