Bicol consumers As ‘green’ partners

NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur — Some 130 consumer leaders from all over the region were gathered here by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Bicol last week or a forum on climate change; energy efficiency and conservati­on; waste disposal and management; and greening strategies and practices. DTI Bicol Regional Director Jocelyn Blanco said the aim of the event was to pass on the practical tips to consumers so that they may adopt environmen­t-friendly strategies and general behavioral changes to improve efficiency in the use of power, water, resources, and to reduce of waste. This way, consumers may contribute in minimizing the adverse impacts of climate change on the environmen­t and creating a green community, said Blanco. (Sarah C. Imperial)
