Man hangs self after being scolded by mother

DOLORES, Quezon — A man, who has been scolded by his mother for being a bum, hanged himself from the ceiling of their rented house at Barangay Dagatan here last Sunday.

Police said the body of 25-year-old Rejane B. Villaflor was found by his brother-in-law, Jayson Ambata Atienza, about 5 a.m. with a hammock rope looped around his neck.

Atienza told police that he untied Villaflor’s body after he discovered it and brought his brother-in-law to Alilio’s clinic but was pronounced dead-on-arrival.

Police said no suicide note was recovered at the crime scene.

Further investigation revealed that the night before the incident, Villaflor had a drinking session with some relatives who noticed that he was quiet and uneasy. (Danny J. Estacio)
