- By MAR T. SUPNAD

GOVERNMENT CENTER, Bataan — While other branches of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) are suffering from an acute shortage in new license plates; in Bataan, thousands of newly manufactured motor vehicle plates remain unclaimed by their registered owners.

LTO-Bataan Chief Ronald Dabu of the Registration Section said motorists can now claim their vehicle plates, saying these have been unclaimed for quite a long time.

“I am appealing to the public to claim now the plates of their motor vehicles since some of them have been here for months,” said Dabu.

He said that he was able to secure by constant following up for the release of more than 3,500 vehicle plates in the past few weeks but the owners have not come to claim them.

New LTO Region 3 Director Marina de Jesus, who replaced former chief Director Oliver Macaspac, is credited for solving the backlog in driver’s licenses and vehicle plates.
