Another NPA attack

DAVAO CITY – Four soldiers and a member of Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) were wounded in a 30-minute gun battle staged by communists New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Sitio Onor, Barangay Tagugpo, Pantukan, Compostela Valley last Friday morning. The Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) said in a statement that members of the 101st Division Reconnaissance Company (101 DRC) of 10th Infantry Division (10th ID) were conducting security patrol in the area when attacked by the rebels. Captain Alberto Caber, chief information officer of Eastmincom said the wounded government troopers were immediately provided first aid and are now in stable condition. Eastmincom commander Lt. General Aurelio Baladad immediately ordered for pursuit operations against the attacking rebels. (Alexander D. Lopez)
