Axel Toni Steven Ngui equaled the record of London Olympian Jessie Khing Lacuna while Kirsten Chloe Daos and SEAG veteran Roxanne Ashley Yu also struck yesterday in the 2015 Speedo G-League Philippine National Long Course Swimming Championship.

Ngui, a 21-year-old national team mainstay, clocked 1:56.60 in the men’s 200-meter freestyle to match Lacuna’s old mark at the Rizal Memorial pool.

Lacuna, who earlier shattered a pair of meet records in the 1500m and 400m free and winning the 100m free, ruled 400m individual medley in recordbreaking fashion in the meet organized by the Galaxy Starships Swim Club and served as the national championship of the Philippine Swimming Inc.

The Singapore SEA Games 400m free silver medalist erased his own mark with a clocking of 4:41.20 to defeat Batungbacal (4:46.72) and Sage Yabut (5:05.75) in the tournament backed by the Philippine Sports Commission, VeGetting loci, COL Financial, D&L Industries, Cream Silk, Unilab, Fitness First, Chatime, Gatorade and Oishi.

Daos reset the meet record in the 50m butterfly in 29.65 seconds after wiping out the old standard in the 200m free (2:10.82).

Yu, 18, posted the fastest time in the 100m backstroke with 1:05.31. She

earlier won the 200m back with a record-shattering feat of 2:19.82.
