Romero ready vs Malaysian

-

Fully recovered from various injuries that sidelined him for almost a year, Reydon Romero is confident of keeping his featherweight crown when he collides with Malaysian Jian Kai Chee in the main event of the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) 25: Domination on Saturday at the Fontana Conventional Hall in Clark, Pampanga.

Despite the long break, Romero is certain he can reproduce the form that enabled him to score a dominant win over Ricardo Sapno in the URCC 23 two years ago.

To prepare against the Malaysian, Romero developed his ground game which many considered as dangerous as his striking prowess.

The Malaysian, on the other hand, prefers to fight “standing up” since his ground game, according to some selfstyled experts, is a bit suspect.

URCC founder and president Alvin Aguilar expects the showdown between Romero and the Malaysian to go the distance, saying: “Both fighters have prepared long and hard for the event.”

All three title fights of the event sponsored by Fontana, Tribal Gear, Solar Sports, Robust, Sound Brothers & Pink Productions will be disputed over five rounds of five minutes each.

The two other title fights will have Andrew Benibe defending his bantamweight crown against Jerson “Salleng” Estoro in a fight many expected to be a bloody one while Alvin Ramirez (6-6) and Japanese Hideo Morikawa (7-3) clash for the vacant flyweight title.

While Benibe is considered as one of the best well-rounded fighters in the country, Estoro is acknowledged as the finest Muay Thai practitioner in the URCC cirlcle.
