Abandoned suitcase reveals woman’s body

Awoman’s body was found inside a suitcase that was abandoned along the Zigzag Road in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal last Friday, police disclosed.

Barangay volunteer Rommel Sison told investigators that he saw a vehicle stopped along the area about 7 p.m. A person then alighted and left behind the suitcase by the roadside before leaving.

Sison said he approached and checked the locked suitcase and reported it to the police. He told responding investigators that he wasn’t able to get the vehicle’s plate number.

Senior Supt. Robert Baesa, chief of police of Rodriguez town, said they forcibly opened the suitcase which revealed the body of a halfnaked woman. Her head was covered with plastic and there were no documents to identify the victim.

Investigators noted that the suitcase was recently purchased since the price tag is still attached.

Baesa said they will check the vicinity for any CCTV cameras in the area that might have captured the suspect on video. (Madelynne Dominguez)
