Globe unit secures retail partnerships
G-Xchange, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom, has secured several partnership deals with key technology retail companies in the country to expand the distribution network of Globe Charge mobile pointof-sale (POS) solution.
Globe Charge is a service that enables entrepreneurs, small business owners, and professionals to accept credit card payments without the need for traditional credit card terminals.
It allows businesses and professionals to accept MasterCard and Visa card payments, thus providing more payment options to customers, and resulting to more sales.
GXI’s new distribution partners for Globe Charge are AllPhones, MemoXpress, PC Express, and Silicon Valley.
Under the arrangement, Globe Charge will be carried by over 250 partner outlets located in different parts of the Philippines including the branches of these companies.
AllPhones has 41 branches throughout the country, while MemoXpress has 138 branches. PC Express, on the other hand, has 38 branches, while Silicon Valley has 37 stores nationwide.
“Through this partnership, smalland-medium sized enterprises will have more avenues to purchase Globe Charge credit card reader off-the-shelf and be able to use it immediately to accept more customers and generate more sales for their business,” Xavier Marzan, president and chief executive officer of GXI, said.
In order to use Globe Charge, a merchant only needs to have the following: Android or iOS device, Globe or TM SIM card with GCash account, Globe Charge Mobile Card Reader, and Globe Charge mobile app downloadable from Google Play or the App Store.
It also works easily and conveniently with Wifi or mobile data, with no data charges for Globe and TM SIMs.
GXI is also the operator of GCash, Globe Telecom's flagship mobile money service.
In March, GXI has forged distribution deals with two new companies, Gate Distribution, Inc., and ECPay, in a bid to further expand its presence nationwide.
Gate Distribution is the largest prepaid distributor of cards for phone, gaming, and internet, while ECPay is the leading electronic payment system provider in the country, which operates as a secure e-warehouse and e-payments data center for prepaid products, bills payments, airline ticket payments, and online shopping transaction payments.
