Red Cross builds 1,043 houses in Capiz
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) –The ongoing typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan rehabilitation operation of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in the province has resulted in the construction of 1,043 core shelter units so far, according to an Aug. 21 PRC update report. Also, 97 houses are up for completion in view of the operation’s overall target of 2,458 housing units for identified Yolanda victims. Each core shelter unit built costs 105,000. The PRC’s core shelter assistance is implemented in identified barangays of Panay, Panit-an, Ivisan, Dao, Dumalag, Dumarao and Tapaz towns. An infographic report also highlights PRC’s Shelter Repair Assistance of 15,000 for each of the 4,658 identified households throughout Capiz province.
