Rubber industry boost
DAVAO CITY – With the recent release of 2.3-million assistance to rubber growers, top government officials in Davao Oriental are seeing a boost to the province’s rubber industry, one of the alternative high-value crops introduced to farmers in the area. Gov. Corazon Malanyaon expressed appreciation to Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and Department of Agriculture in Davao region (DA-11) for implementing Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) program. The project will benefit around 200 rubber farmers in the area as part of the government’s bid to intensify efforts in peace and development in communities through poverty alleviation. (Alexander D.
