Rubber industry boost

DAVAO CITY – With the recent release of 2.3-million assistance to rubber growers, top government officials in Davao Oriental are seeing a boost to the province’s rubber industry, one of the alternativ­e high-value crops introduced to farmers in the area. Gov. Corazon Malanyaon expressed appreciati­on to Office of the Presidenti­al Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and Department of Agricultur­e in Davao region (DA-11) for implementi­ng Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) program. The project will benefit around 200 rubber farmers in the area as part of the government’s bid to intensify efforts in peace and developmen­t in communitie­s through poverty alleviatio­n.
