Luy: 3 DBM staff members visited Janet

- By JEFFREY G. DAMICOG

At least three staff members of Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Undersecretary Mario Relampagos have been visiting the office of alleged pork barrel scam brains, Janet Lim Napoles, whistleblower Benhur Luy testified yesterday.

During the hearing on the bail petition of former Rep. Edgar Valdez before the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division, Luy said that he knows the three staff members of Relampagos personally because they had been visiting Napoles’ office at the Discovery Suites in Pasig City.

Relampagos and his three staff members – Rosario Nunez, Lalaine Paule, and Marilou Bare – are co-accused in the graft cases of former and current legislators in connection with the pork barrel scam.

The whistleblower admitted that he only knows the three staff members as Lea, Malou and Lalaine but do not know their full names or their positions.

Luy CPUs needed Meanwhile, at the bail hearing of Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Special Investigator III Dario Sabilano, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) forensic examiner, told the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division that computers from which Luy’s files were extracted are needed to verify the actual time of the recorded transactions.

During the cross examination conducted by Estrada Lawyer Paul Mar Arias, Sabilano said that there is no way of knowing if the time settings of the computers Luy used to create his ledgers corresponds with the actual time.

Without the computers used by Luy, there is no way of knowing if the time embedded in the files of his external hard drive corresponds with the actual time, Sabilano said.
