25 things you probably didn’t know about Bongbong Marcos
Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was guest at the Manila Bulletin‘s “hot seat” last Wednesday. During the round-table discussion with editors and writers, he revealed a bit of personal information, largely unknown to the majority.
Here are 25 things that you probably did not know about the 57-year-old lawmaker:
1. He likes listening to rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and jazz.
2. He claims to have best record collection in the Philippines (but sadly left this when they hurriedly left Malacañang Palace in 1986).
3. He is a fan of the iconic British band The Beatles (I was a child of the ’60…’70s).
4. His favorite album is Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (“because this was the first album produced with music meant for listening and not for dancing”).
5. He collects Beatles memorabilia (even if they’re now made in China).
6. He joined the Magical Mystery Tour in Liverpool (based on the album of the same name recorded by The Beatles. “That tour continues to use the same bus that the English rock group rode on”).
7. He invited former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr to return to the Philippines to bring closure to the issues that surrounded the group’s visit to the Philippines back in 1966.
8. He muscled his way just to get his photo taken near the sign of a Salvation Army children’s home in Liverpool where John Lennon grew up that inspired him to write the song Strawberry Fields Forever.
9. He says making him choose his favorite song is like making him choose who his favorite son is (He has three sons — Ferdinand Alexander Marcos III, Joseph Simon Marcos, and William Vincent Marcos).

He loves watching movies. Hoffman inside a movie house (He was seated behind me and was annotating the movie while watching. I was initially irritated but when I found out it was Hoffman, I instead listened in).
