The Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. (AFFI) has stepped up its efforts to entice and inspire a new breed of Filipino entrepreneurs stressing that entrepreneurs are the foundation of the country’s economic growth.

Ricardo Cuna, owner of the Fiorgelato ice cream franchise, said AFFI will be holding the 14th Franchise and Business Expo on October 2-4 at the World Trade Center to promote franchising and push for the group's advocacy.

Cuna, organizing committee chairman, said this year's expo carries the theme "Empowering Entrepreneurs".

AFFI has decided to feature a comprehensive Business Journey series, which is more than just basic information on how to set up a business.

"Business Journey will guide attendees through the process of becoming an entrepreneur, including creating the proper mindset, understanding the various government services, utilizing available investment tools and technology, finding the right business and much more," said Cuna.

“Now more than ever, it’s important for us to create and nurture the Filipino entrepreneur. Education plus opportunities equals empowerment, is the equation that is at the center of Expo."

AFFI is composed of some of the best and brightest minds in Philippine franchising business.

Through the Business Journey, AFFI members will share their expertise as well as the many valuable lessons they have gained along the path to success.

"Starting and growing a business may not be easy, but it certainly helps to have guidance from experts," added Cuna.

Touted as the biggest and longestrunning Business Expo in the Philippines, the expo aims to help potential entrepreneurs start up their dream business, and enable existing ones to reach their full potential thru a variety of informative seminars and activities, and a whole range of opportunities provided by partner organizations, government agencies, and fellow entrepreneurs.

Taking center stage will be more than 300 exhibitors from the Philippines and ASEAN region showcasing a wide range of franchising and business opportunities, as well as the latest business tools and services available to both up-and-coming and established entrepreneurs.

Spread over 5,000 square meters of exhibition space, the Expo also offers seminars on the latest business trends and even a special zone for Overseas Filipino Workers searching for the perfect venture in which to invest and grow their hard-earned money. With its ever-growing popularity, this year’s Expo expects to surpass the 20,000 visitor mark.

With its stellar line-up of resource speakers, exhibitors and seminars, the 14th Franchise and Business Expo guarantees a power-packed three days of exposure, enrichment, engagement and empowerment.
