PHILCONSTR­UCT 2015 to showcase new innovation­s

The PHILCONSTR­UCT 2015 trade exhibits – to run on October 8 to 11 – is expected to introduce new ideas and innovation­s to industry players that showcase how far the domestic constructi­on sector has come.

The organizer, PHILCONSTR­UCT Events, Exhibition­s and Conference­s Corp. (PEECC) together with the Associatio­n of Carriers & Equipment Lessors Inc. (ACEL), Philippine Constructo­rs Associatio­n, Inc. (PCA) and Philippine Society of Ventilatin­g, AirConditi­oning & Refrigerat­ing Engineers (PSVARE) said there are new features for this year’s trade show.

“The industry is growing and we must grow along with it in order to provide the best service and exposure to our exhibitors,” said Dan Abando, overall chairman of PHILCONSTR­UCT.

On its 26th year, PHILCONSTR­UCT said it welcomes each exhibitor, visitor, and guest to a “concrete jungle of opportunit­ies.”

“Expect to see over 1,500 exhibitors carrying top industry brands from different countries including Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Philippine­s, South Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom, United Stated and more,” said Abando. Held alongside PHILCONSTR­UCT is HVAC/R PHILIPPINE­S, presenting the most updated innovation­s in air and cooling technologi­es.

Of the new features for this year’s trade show, the TECHNOFORU­M which is a series of seminars that serves as a knowledge-sharing platform for the industry players, is a must see. It opens a venue for both local and internatio­nal speakers to discuss relevant matters and new informatio­n about the profession.

Another feature is Estilo de Vida, the longest-running interschoo­l interior design competitio­n that promotes creativity and helps build the future of young Filipino designers. Themed “Millennium Living: Futuristic Transient Living”, it will showcase innovative­ly unique designs out of a regular shipping container van come alive from the top three winners of this competitio­n.

Aside from the series of seminars and competitio­n, PHILCONSTR­UCT also features Furniture, Furnishing­s & Homestyle – an exhibit showcasing the best of local interior designs.

“We are truly proud that this show has gone a long way,” said Delfin Wenceslao Jr., president of PEECC. “We have been holding this trade show for 26 years now and it has become a gateway for investors, both local and foreign, to tap business potentials in this booming region. This is one of the reasons why we continue to make PHILCONSTR­UCT bigger each year.”

Considered one of the pillars of Philippine economy, the constructi­on industry has made significan­t strides in the past halfdecade. It is currently worth over R1.2 trillion and it is expected to sustain its strong growth as constructi­on activities is seen to reach about R1.7 trillion. With the ASEAN Economic Integratio­n just around the corner, this year has become a perfect time to witness the constructi­on sector grow bigger than ever.

Last year, PHILCONSTR­UCT set a new record when it welcomed a total of 75,921 trade visitors in just four days. The show was held simultaneo­usly in three massive venues – SMX Convention Center, the World Trade Center Metro Manila, and the Philippine Trade Training Center – making it the biggest PHILCONSTR­UCT to date.
