Shelter aid distribution deadline extended

TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte (PNA) – The local government units (LGUs) of Sta. Rita, Samar; Naval, Biliran; Julita, Leyte; and Daram, Samar in Eastern Visayas are given until September 20 to complete the distribution of emergency shelter assistance (ESA) for families affected by super-typhoon Yolanda. Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Director Nestor Ramos said the deadline has been extended for 10 days from the original September 10 cut-off-date. Each of the four towns will get from R40-R100 million in financial support, said Ramos. “The distribution has been delayed because they submitted their project proposal late,” Ramos said.
