Mild quake hits Davao Oriental

BUTUAN CITY – A 3.5-magnitude earthquake shook Cateel town, Davao Oriental, yesterday at 10:13 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanolog­y and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. In its bulletin, Phivolcs said no damage was recorded after the tectonic quake, whose epicenter was located 47 kilometers (kms) northeast of the said town. There were also no aftershock­s, Phivolcs said, describing the earthquake as a shallow one. The tremor has a depth of 7 kms, it said. (Mike U. Crismundo)
