‘Bar Dureza’

The prosecution panel handling the “Maguindanao Massacre” suit wants a Quezon City court to bar former Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process in Mindanao Jesus Dureza to be presented as rebuttal witness in the bail petition of principal accused Andal “Datu Unsay” Ampatuan Jr. because the former holds privileged information. In a four-page motion, Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Maria Emilia Victorio one of the members of the panel said that presenting Dureza as rebuttal witness in said bail petition is improper. The panel filed the motion at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221. (Chito A. Chavez)
