CKSC, HCHS forge ti­tle clash in FCAAF tilt

De­fend­ing cham­pion Chi­ang Kai Shek Col­lege (CKSC) and long-time ri­val Hope Chris­tian High School (HCHS) sealed another ti­tle show­down by down­ing their re­spec­tive semis ri­vals in Di­vi­sion I of the 26th Filipino-Chi­nese Am­a­teur Ath­letic Fed­er­a­tion (FCAAF) Bas­ket­ball Cham­pi­onships held last week­end at the Chi­ang Kai Shek Col­lege gym in Manila.

The Blue Dragons banked on their near-flaw­less shoot­ing in the first quar­ter to romp to a 55-24 win over St. Jude Catholic School and se­cure a re­turn trip to the fi­nal of the event pre­sented by Molten.

The Hope Chris­tian cagers, on the other hand, scored a venge­ful 70-42 win over the Manila Pa­tri­otic School side, 70-42, in the other semis pair­ing held last Sun­day.

MPS de­nied Hope Chris­tian of a 7-game sweep of the elims by ek­ing out a 72-70 thriller at the close of the elims last Satur­day.

In Di­vi­sion B, PACE ar­ranged a semis meet­ing with MGC New Life Chris­tian Academy by down­ing St. Mary’s An­gels Col­lege of Valen­zuela, 75-65, while Philip­pine Sun Yat Sen High School earned the right to face Paco Citizen Academy Foun­da­tion in the other semis pair by beat­ing North­ern Rizal Yorklin School, 71-54.

MGC-NLC ad­vanced to the Fi­nal Four with a 68-58 win over Grace Chris­tian Col­lege while PCAF trounced Philip­pine Academy of Sakya, 54-44.

Mean­time, St. Stephen’s High School ex­tended its win streak to seven games in the boys’ de­vel­op­men­tal di­vi­sion with wins over SPAS (47-13) and Philip­pine Cul­tural Col­lege (3915) while CKSC hiked its record to 7-1 with wins over Philadelph­ia High School (63-39) and JCA (61-36).

Also con­tention for semis berths are GCC and St. Jude Catholic School with 6-1 and 6-2 marks.
