CEU, RTU clobber rivals

Defending champions Centro Escolar University (CEU) and Rizal Technological University (RTU) whipped their respective rivals as they continued to dominate the field in the 46th WNCAA tournament.

CEU trounced Miriam College, 8313, for its fourth straight win last Sunday at the St. Scholastica gym that saw Arlain Galco and Opeyemi Lawan fire 14 points apiece.

The Lady Scorpions are eyeing a fifth straight senior basketball title.

Host Philippine Women’s University also prevailed over Assumption College, 64-25, and RTU overpowered St. Scholastica’s College, 89-20, as both winners trail CEU at 3-1.

De La Salle Zobel stopped St. Paul College Pasig in both Junior A (75-40) and midgets level (50-43), where it’s likewise eyeing a fifth straight crown. DLSZ paces both divisions with 3-0 slates.

Chiang Kai Shek College, behind Hazel Panti’s 20 points, downed St. Jude Catholic School to lead Junior B at 4-0 in the league being supported by Gosen, Mikasa, Molten, Goody, Converse, Colgate, Sonak Trading, MJC Printing Press and media partners Inquirer, Bulletin, Philippine Star, Sports5, Magic 89.9 and Chalk Magazine.
