TACLOBAN CITY — Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominic L. Petilla has ordered all jail wardens and guards to eliminate the illegal drugs scourge in jail facilities in the province. Petilla told reporters in an interview that the elimination of illegal drugs and the drug abuse of inmates inside the Leyte jails is one of his primary and immediate concerns of his administration. Petilla said that reports have been reaching his office that numerous inmates are into illegal drug abuse and using right inside their cells. Petilla said he ordered an investigation on how exactly illegal drugs are smuggled into jail facilities. “I have already ordered the jail wardens and guards to stop this illegal activity and I want to see the end of drug abuse in jails,” he stressed.
