The new restaurant on the block in Newport Mall (2/F), Resorts World Manila, Johnny Kahuku’s Hawaiian Shrimphous­e offers a wide variety of mixed seafood and specialty dishes. Set to delight big families and food enthusiast­s alike, this casual dining restaurant rides on a Hawaiian theme but brings more than just island-inspired dishes to the table. Bringing to life the story of namesake character Johnny Kahuku, the shrimphous­e is the passion project of this Hawaiian hero who’s both a soul surfer and amazing chef. But in reality, Johnny Kahuku’s is the brainchild of restaurate­ur Raymund Magdaluyo and Executive Chef Peter Ayson. Officially part of the Red Crab Group of Restaurant­s, Johnny Kahuku’s Hawaiian Shrimphous­e sibling brands include favorites such as Red Crab Alimango House, Clawdaddy’s, Blackbeard’s Seafood Island and Murray’s New Orleans Bourbon Street Steaks and Oysters. “What’s great about Johnny Kahuku’s is that we were able to come up with a menu offering interestin­g new food choices, while still anchoring on something familiar,” says Executive Chef Peter Ayson. “We’ve got all your favorites — shrimps, crabs, lobsters, meats and more — but we’ve put a global twist to it.” Johnny Kahuku’s Hawaiian Shrimphous­e is located at 2/F Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila. Another branch is soon to open in Eastwood Mall by year end.
