When Cesar met Maria
For the entire month of September, Cesar Montano will be very busy shooting scenes for "Nilalang," his brand new Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry where he is paired opposite international actress Maria Ozawa.
We visited him on location in Quezon City the other day, where he was shooting a bar scene with Maria and we are very happy to report seeing a more goodlooking, healthier, more vibrant Cesar, obviously happy to be back in front of the camera.
Buboy told me he is shooting almost every day so he will finish all his scenes before he flies back to the US soon. He related that he is looking at possible projects over there and that, if plans push through, there just might be more good news coming up.
About “Nilalang,” Buboy said he is happy to take over the role first offered to his friend Robin Padilla. “I am a firm believer that if a project is yours, it will really fall on your lap. That’s what happened to this project. I was in the US when Robin announced his ‘resignation’ from the project. I didn’t even know what was happening then. That’s why when the film’s director called me, I was surprised.”
Suffice it to say that after checking with Robin, he accepted the project. It will be recalled that in last year’s MMFF, Buboy was supposed to do “Bonifacio” but after producers pursued a different path, the project ended up with Robin.
Buboy said the first scene he shot with Maria in “Nilalang” turned out really well. “She was a little bit nervous and apprehensive at first but she easily adjusted and warmed up to all of us. It was hard for a nonTagalog speaking actress to understand the lines but she did very well. She acted her responses to my lines really well,” Buboy said.
Thing is, all his male friends are now keen on visiting the set eager to have their photo taken with Maria.
